The Flamenco Yacht Club Fishing Competition enters its third year with participants from all over the world. This year's tournament begins on the 18th of September and ends on the 19th of September. The tournament honors the Architect Andrés López Piñeiro whose vision led to the construction of the Flamenco Island and Marina. The tournament will be held at the Flamenco Yacht Club with over $65,000 in prizes. The prize species will include Billfish, Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Spanish mackerel, Amberjack, bottom fish species and a prize for children. The main award or Grand Slam is the Andrés López Piñeiro prize.

"We are pleased and enthusiastic to hold our annual fishing event at Flamenco Marina. In addition to a competitive weekend, we will also be entertaining our friends and family in a relaxed and secure environment. Competitors will have access to boat mechanics, rescue boats, medical help and security personnel at the Archipelago de Las Perlas, for whatever assistance is needed," said Yacht Club President Arq. Miguel López Piñeiro.

On the 9th of September, the Casa Coffee Store will hold a press conference for the tournament at 6.00 pm. The Isla Viveros Resort in the Pearl Island Archipelago will hold the official weigh-ins on the 18th of September from 3.00 pm to 5.00 pm in the afternoon. Sunday, the final weigh-in will be held from 3.00 pm to 5.30 pm at the Flamenco Marina. The Final ceremony and trophy presentations will be held at the Terraces of Flamenco Marina on the 21st of September at 7.00pm.

Adaris Romero, Marketing Manager for Flamenco Marina, says "The tournament attracts the top fishermen from all over the country of Panama to compete for record-breaking catches. We expect a larger international turnout this year."

The Flamenco Marina is fast becoming Central America's most exclusive marina located at the entrance of the Panama Canal. Flamenco Marina will be donating 50% of its sign up fee to the APLAFA Y CASA ESPERANZA charities.

The entrance fee is $250 per boat for both days for up to 5 fishermen (each additional person is $50). For more information, please call. 507-314-1029/1980.
